National Institute of Design (NID) offers admissions to aspirants in
Bachelor of Design (BDes), Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) as
well as Master of Design (MDes) programmes on the basis of their performance
in NID Design Aptitude Test. In order to secure admission in design
programmes offered at National Institute of Design (NID) aspirants need to
take part in NID DAT (Prelims) and NID DAT (Mains). Only candidates who are
shortlisted in NID DAT (Prelims) can appear for NID DAT (Mains) admission

Bachelor of Design (BDes) course at NID Ahmedabad as well asGraduate Diploma
Programme in Design (GDPD) course at NID Vijayawada and NID Kurukshetra. The
GDPD course is of four year duration. Candidates can view below NID Entrance
Exam 2018 eligibility criteria for BDes & GDPD course admissions. The
eligibility criteria for NID entrance exam for BDes/GDPD course admissions
states that candidates who have cleared or who will be appearing for their
higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examination from any stream (Science,
Arts, Commerce, etc.) from any recognised board such as CBSE, IB, ICSE or
their equivalent in the year 2017-2018 can apply for the exam. |

NID entrance exam 2018 test centres are out. The design entrance exam
(NID DAT Prelims) for BDes and MDes admissions is scheduled to be conducted
at 23 test centres in India. The test cities for NID DAT 2018 are as

NID Entrance Exam 2018 result for BDes and GDPD programmes has been
declared at 4 pm on March 13, 2018. National Institute of Design (NID) has
already declared the results for DAT (Prelims) for MDes admissions on
February 15, 2018. NID result for BDes and MDes entrance exams is declared on
NID’s official website. To check NID DAT 2018 result, candidates need to fill
details like their registered email address, date of birth and roll
number/application number on the official website of NID entrance exam. NID
DAT merit list is prepared category-wise, that is, different lists are
released for General, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PH category candidates. NID’s
official website informs: “From the total number of applicants who have
appeared for DAT, the number of candidates to be called for Stage 2 and Stage
3 of the exam will be calculated as no less than 3 X N where ‘N’ stands for
number of seats in that category for that programme or discipline”. |

NID admit
card is released by officials of National Institute of Design (NID) on the
official website of the entrance exam. Aspirants can download NID DAT admit
card online from NID entrance exam’s official website. Candidates need to
note that NID Entrance Exam admit card would only be issued to them if they
have successfully completed and duly submitted NID application form. NID
admission process comprises of three rounds that aspirants need to clear –
NID DAT, Studio Test and Interview round. Here, NID Design Aptitude Test is
known as NID DAT Prelims and the Studio Test as well as the interview round
is collectively referred to as NID DAT Mains exam. Thus, candidates are informed
that separate admit cards would be issued to them for NID DAT (Prelims) and
NID DAT (Mains) examinations. |

Exam Cut Off 2018 |
National
Institute of Design has released the NID DAT (Prelims) 2018 cut off for MDes
course. The cut off for NID DAT (Prelims) is the score of the last candidate
in order of the merit who is shortlisted for DAT Mains. The official website
also informs: "Based on the categroy-wise merit lits of DAT (Pelims),
the number of candidates shortlisted for DAT (mains) in each category, in
each discipline is five times the number of available seats in each category,
in the respective discipline". All candidates need to meet NID DAT
cutoff in order to secure admission in design courses offered at National
Institute of Design (NID). Separate NID entrance exam cut-offs are released
for NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains exam. NID DAT Prelims result for BDes,
MDes and GDPD course is usually declared in the month of February each year.
Only candidates who meet NID DAT Prelims cut-off are eligible to take part in
Studio Test and Interview round for NID admissions. Separate cut-offs for NID
entrance exam are released for candidates belonging to different categories,
such as – General, Other Backward Classes- Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL),
Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PwD) and
Supernumerary. |
