        Jammu and Kashmir State MBBS BDS Counselling 2016 Schedule – The offline counselling for MBBS and BDS courses in Jammu and Kashmir has been started from 24th of August 2016. The counselling session will be till 28th of August 2016. Eligibility Criteria
Candidates willing for JK MBBS admission 2017 must fulfil certain eligiblity conditions mentioned below.

Nationality: The candidates must be a citizen of India

Age: He/she must be of 17 years on or before December 31, 2017. They must have born on or after January 2, 1999.

Domicile: Candidates must be a permanent resident of Jammu and Kashmir as defined in section 6 of Jammu and Kashmir Constitution

Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have passed Class 12th or equivalent examination from recognised board or university. The general category candidates have scored 50% marks aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English. Candidates under SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories must secure 40% marks taken together in PCB and English.

Entrance Examination: Candidates must have appeared and qualified in NEET 2017 with 50th percentile for general categories, 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC/PH and 45th percentile for general PH candidates.
Merit List
      The merit list of JK MBBS 2017 is to be published on July 20, by admission committee of Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination. The conducting authority has released the provisional merit list on July 02. The final merit list will be available after document verification of all candidates. JK MBBS merit list is to be derived from NEET scores. Only the candidates who have qualified in NEET 2017 and reports for document verification will be included in merit list. The merit list displays name of candidates, roll number, NEET 2017 marks, state rank etc. As per the merit rank, candidates will be called for JK MBBS counselling for admission to medical and dental colleges of state.
Application Procedure
      The application form for the counselling session will be available offline. All applicants whose names are mentioned in the merit list released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will be required to report to the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination office to fill up the counselling form and register themselves. The registration form will have to be filled up by the applicant personally. In the application form, the candidate will have to fill in his/her name along with mobile number and email ID. Options or preference of courses and colleges will have to be filled in by the applicants. The names will have to be filled in the order of preference.  The applicant is also required to pay the counselling fee. The form is to be submitted to the JKBOPEE office after which the counselling session will start for all eligible applicants.
Counselling
     The counselling of JK MBBS 2017 is to start from July 22. The candidates included in the merit list must fill up the online preferences or report for physical JK MBBS counselling. The candidates must select the number of preferences of colleges and courses. Before final submission of courses and colleges. candidates must verify the details. After the option entry, the counselling committee will release the seat allotment result for JK MBBS counselling round 1 on July 31. As per the seats allotted, candidates have to report at the college for completion of JK MBBS admission procedure. If the candidates are not satisfied with the result, they can choose to upgrade their seats. Such candidates will again have to fill the choice of colleges in round 2 of JK MBBS 2017 counselling.

• The counselling of JK MBBS 2017 is the basis for admission to MBBS and BDS courses offered by medical and dental colleges of Jammu and Kashmir
• Minority candidates who wish to get admission in minority colleges must produce their identity proof at the time of counselling
• In case of vacant seats left after round 2 of counselling, the merit list will be forwarded to respective colleges
• Such colleges will then conduct counselling rounds as per the merit list provided by admission committee
