Counselling – State Quota Counselling for MBBS/BDS admissions in Govt,
Private/ Self financed Colleges is all set to start from July 17. Tami Nadu
has reserved 85% of total medical seats under the state quota for students
who had pursued Class 12 education under the state board. “The move was to
protect the interests of 4.2 lakh Tamil Nadu students who constitute over 90%
of the total number of Class XII students, adding only 4,685 students were
from the CBSE stream” said TN health minister. The state government has
opposed NEET but is yet to receive the presidential assent for the two Bills
passed by it in the assembly seeking exemption from common entrance test.
